Learn To Surf With Puro Nectar

Puro Nectar offers highly enjoyable and adrenaline filled 2 hour surf lessons. You will receive instruction from a fully qualified BSA approved surf instructor who will demonstrate to you, and provide coaching on, the skills and actions of learning to surf.

Your safety is put first and all our instructors have obtained an internationally recognised National Beach Lifeguard qualification certified by the Royal Life Saving Society.

You will be provided with all of the necessary surf equipment on the day:

Surfboard
Wetsuit
Wetsuit Boots, Gloves and Hood (depending on the time of year!)

The cost of a single lesson is £35 for an adult and £25 for concessions (under 18, OAP, student). This includes all equipment hire.

Surf pre-requisites:

The minimum age for lessons is 8 but there is no maximum! Group sizes are limited to ten people. Sign up as an individual or in groups of up to 10. You will need to bring a swim suit, a towel and appropriate clothing for the time of year. Ideally you should be able to swim 50 metres.

Surfing when:

Lessons are conducted year-round, 7 days a week, including evenings in the summer. Lessons are dependant on surf conditions, and if the sea is flat calm on the day of your scheduled lesson, we will arrange to put you on the very next course suitable to you.

Surfing where:

All courses take place within 15 minutes drive of Dunbar, the exact location being dependant on conditions on the day. We will meet you at Puro Nectar Surf Shop on Dunbar High Street, 30 minutes prior to the start of the lesson. Bus and train services run daily from Edinburgh, taking you to within 5 minutes walk from the shop. Transport from here to the beach can be provided for up to two people per lesson.
